WOMAN'S BURDEN II

She carries the daily load

high on her shoulders

Strengthened over time with the weight

She does not notice or complain

As she moves a light from above

comes through

touching her load

Bringing an extraordinary energy

to her weary bones

Becoming the very wings

that will lift her to fly.
